Good Girls…

Mum

So I know i’m probably a little late to the party

But…

Who’s watched Good Girls on Netflix?

I’ll be honest, I've just got to season 3 and I’m a little bored!

I feel like the writers are clutching at straws.. I loved the first two seasons, I found them thrilling and exciting

(I don’t get out much)

I was intrigued but also like wow! at the length these women went to, to save their families..

It got me thinking..

As mothers we’d do anything for our kids right?!? Well within reason..

I say this as I can imagine one of my kids reading this, thinking Mum said she’d do ANYTHING for us, and them thinking of the most extreme thing ever for me to do! LOL!

Anyway…

We do, we go without sleep, the tv remote, nights out, smile at times we want to cry, sacrifice our weekends taxi-ing, as we stand in the cold cheering our kids on at their games

That's to name a few..

We’re there for them no matter what.. We wipe their tears as we hold back our own, support decisions even when we’d want better for them.

Annnddd we ask for nothing in return… there's no charge for love, we just do it!

My beautiful mother was so selfless, she just oozed LOVE, as my uncle said.. She was a love gusher!!

Some of the things they did may seem a little selfish..

I know Beth admitted she enjoyed it! The rush of stealing, the lies, holding people at gunpoint and being an actual criminal excited her!

I guess it was the thrill of it being so different from her life before, day in.. day out…making “nice” putting on fake smiles

Then there’s her sister bed hopping..

I mean paint picture…

Shes a single Mum, to her daughter thats going through a sex change… that's pretty tough.. I must say she handles it pretty well!

But she openly admitted she felt lonely.

I understand that, I think single parenthood can be pretty lonely too..

I don't condone what she did.. her actions hurt a lot of people, herself included.. I just understand why..

I know it's just a programme and none of us are actually going around robbing grocery stores..

But..

There are aspects that mimic real life.

What I did love was their friendship.. The way they had each other's backs no matter what…

In a world FULL of comparison and jealousy towards women from other women I found their sisterhood refreshing.

It's hard enough being a woman without the added scrutiny from each other..

We should be lifting each other up, celebrating us, and being there through the high & lows of life.

That's what I want my Motherblog community to reflect… a celebration of womanhood..

Mums especially 🥰

So if you're with me on that..

Let a fellow Mum know, she's awesome and that you celebrate her today.

Love & blessings always ❤️

Regardless of what else you put on

Wear LOVE,

It's your basic, all-purpose garment

Never be without it.
